Owner and bankroller of Access Bank Division One Football Club, Skyy FC, Wilson Arthur, has lamented the mass exodus of Ghana Premier League to European clubs as he continues to advocate for more Ghana based players to make up the core of the Black Stars.

However, he was quick to admit that the constant mass exit of players from the league to European clubs doesn’t help solve this situation and called for more investment into the Ghana league to ensure players are paid better so more stay in Ghana.
“I we build our team around clubs that played at the CAF level (Samartex, FC Nsoatreman) and did well, if we build the team around them, we can do better. Another challenge is these players we are calling local, next three months, they will all be (European) professionals that is the problem so the bigger more sustainable solution is to invest in our leagues, invest in our local game so that players can stay…because I know if I stay, I will get into the Black Stars.”

“That is possible, we just have to have a strategy, we have to be intentional about it.”
