In the wake of Nebojsa Kapor’s exit as Medeama Sporting Club head coach, disagreements over terms on a new deal have been revealed as the main reason for his exit.
Despite ranking fifth in the Ghana Premier League standings and being just three points off league leaders Kpando Heart of Lions, the Mauve and Yellow decided to part ways with the Bosnian.
In a statement released by the club, Medeama pointed to the parties failure to settle on a deal and that led to the separation following the expiration of Kapor’s one year deal.
“Both parties failed to reach an agreement on contract renewal. Under his leadership, Medeama SC witnessed significant progress and competitive performances in the Ghana Premier League.”
The club has since appointed Technical Director Evans Augustus Adotey as interim head coach; Adotey led Medeama to win its first ever Ghana League title and its maiden CAF Champions League campaign before the technical shake up that led to Kapor’s appointment.
In what turned out to be his last game in charge, Kapor’s Medeama lost 3-2 to league debutant Vision FC.
