Dutch international wingback of Ghanaian descent, Jeremie Frimpong, says he has always wanted to help the less privileged in society.
He made this confession after donating several items to the Osu Children’s Home in Ghana’s capital, Accra during his stay in the country.
Frimpong touched down in Ghana in time for the Christmas festivities as the Bundesliga observes its annual winter break.
Having presented drinks, food, toiletries and football jerseys to the Osu Children’s Home, the 24 year old spoke about the motivation behind the gesture.
“You know for me, I’ve always wanted to do this but I think I had to be in the right position to provide. Now I can help everybody and this is what I want to do especially in Africa. This is where I’m from, my blood is Ghanaian blood so if I can put a smile on these kids faces, I’m going to do that.”

Frimpong won the Bundesliga and German Cup double last season and has two goals and four assists in 15 league games for Leverkusen who rank second in the Bundesliga at the time of writing.
