Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko,Dr. Prosper Nartey, has expressed confidence that their next two home games in the Ghana Premier League will serve as a pivotal point in their quest to reignite their league ambitions.

Currently sitting just two points behind league leaders Hearts of Lions, who have 30 points, Kotoko are gearing up for crucial matchdays against Vision FC and Karela United in Weeks 17 and 18, which will be played at Kotoko’s home venue at the Baba Yara Stadium.

In a post match interview after Kotoko’s 2-0 win against Accerler8z FC in the MTN FA Cup, coach Ogum highlighted the need to amass all six points to go on top of the league .

“It should be a turning point for us in terms of our ambition to compete for the trophy.’ It should be a turning point for us. We are playing two games at home. We should make the very best out of this opportunity. Try and play well in terms of performance, try and make sure that the chances we create, we convey them. It’s all about the three points.”

Asante Kotoko last claimed the league title under Dr. Ogum, securing their record-extending 25th championship in 2014. They clinched the title with a 1-1 draw against Ashanti Gold, and the trophy was handed to them on the final day of the season after a commanding 3-0 victory over relegated Elmina Sharks.
