In a breathtaking highlight at the Ashanti Regional Inter Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition, Roland Kwabena Yeboah of Antoa Senior High School has smashed the regional pole vault record.

Clearing an astounding 3.80 meters, Yeboah surpassed the previous mark of 3.60 meters, set by fellow Antoa alumnus Evans Gyan.

This feat has solidified his status as a standout star of the 2025 competition.

Yeboah’s record-breaking leap has electrified the athletics community, earning widespread acclaim for his extraordinary skill and relentless commitment.

In an interview with Channel One News, the young pole vaulter shared the drive behind his triumph.

“This is the result of hard work and consistent training. I’ve put in the effort, and it’s finally paid off,” he said. Yeboah credited Evans Gyan, the former record holder, as his inspiration. “Evans’ record motivated me. I knew I could reach it, and I pushed myself to make it happen.”

He also gave a heartfelt shoutout to his Physical Education teacher, whose guidance proved pivotal. “My PE teacher has been a huge part of this journey.

I’m so thankful for their support,” Yeboah added.

The Ashanti Regional Inter Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition continues to captivate audiences at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where top schools across the region are battling for glory.
