The Public Relations Officer of Swedru All Blacks, Nathaniel Obeng, has reaffirmed the club’s stance in the ongoing controversy surrounding their clash with Elmina Sharks.
According to him, the club remains firm in its position, insisting they are the true victims of the incident.
In an interview with Citi Sports, he stated:
“When you look at the press statement issued by the club, whatever is in that statement is our position.
That is exactly what happened, based on numerous accounts from the players, the technical team, and officials who were on the field or inside the stadium.
I am expecting Elmina Sharks to condemn the violence that happened inside their stadium, but they haven’t done so yet.”
Attacks like this happen mostly in our @DivisionOneGH almost every weekend.
I promise there are a number of factors that lead to attacks like this .Will it ever stop? @ghanafaofficial@ElminaSharks vs @allblacksufc_45 pic.twitter.com/Ue0ASa34Zg

He went on to accuse Elmina Sharks, and particularly their financier, Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum, of deliberately trying to tarnish Swedru All Blacks’ image.
“They want to put the blame on the referee and, to some extent, paint All Blacks as the bad team.
The issue is, there was a penalty awarded to us. According to Dr. Ndoum, who bankrolls Elmina Sharks, he believes the penalty was dubious.”

Obeng also dismissed claims that Dr. Ndoum went to the stadium to restore order, alleging instead that he intended to disrupt the game.
“As a club president, he walked onto the field to confront the referee. His initial purpose was to ask his players to walk off the pitch.”
