Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club goal keeper Benjamin Asare marked his debut game for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, with a clean sheet and a win.
The Black Stars bagged a heavy 5-0 win over Chad in a Group I 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21.
Asare, who was a surprise call up to the squad, made an even more surprising impression by getting the starting nod ahead of regulars Lawrence Ati Zigi and Joseph Wollacott.
The 32 year old keeper was barely troubled in the game with Chad having very little in attack as dealing with a quick series of corner kicks serving as the major call to action for Asare.
The former Accra Great Olympics goalkeeper has excelled in his first season with the Phobians in the Ghana Premier League as he has 12 clean sheets in 18 games and starred at the Black Stars training sessions amid strong cheers from fans.

He is line to start in Ghana’s game on March 24 against Madagascar in Morocco.
