Public Relations of Ghana Cycling Federation, Dennis Moore, has dismissed the notion that recently appointed Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, isn’t fit to lead the sports body.
He rubbished the idea that the Authority should be led by a technocrat in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports where he expressed his excitement over Ankrah’s appointment having served many years as Ghana Beach Soccer President.
Having had the likes of Professor Peter Twumasi lead the NSA in previous years, some sports stakeholders expressed concerns the role has been given to the sports journalist but Dennis Moore isn’t buying into such ideas.
“He (Yaw Ankrah) knows the terrain, he knows what all the (sports) federations actually want. I don’t believe in that thing at all; it’s anybody who can do the job. Ghanaians must begin to actually take away that kind of perception in their minds.”

“It’s about what you can do and not that kind of paper work, professor, doctor; what haven’t seen before since the likes of Worlanyo Agrah till now what have we seen? Nothing. This is somebody at the grassroots, we need to support him.”

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah replaces Acting NSA Director-General Seth Panwum.
