Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has stated that winning the MTN FA Cup is very dear to his heart.

He said this in a pre-game interview as Ghana Premier League side Kotoko prepare to take on lower tier side True Democracy in the quarterfinals of the 2024-2025 MTN FA Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, March 30 at 19:00 GMT.

Kotoko beat Access Bank Division One side Sekondi XI Wise 1-0 in the previous round to make it into the final eight and get a step closer to winning the trophy that has evaded Dr. Ogum in his professional career having coached at Ebusua Dwarfs and West Africa Football Academy (WAFA).

“This competition is a very important one for me. I’ve never won it before coaching other Premier teams like Dwarfs, WAFA, even the first time I came to Kotoko and we won the league, we couldn’t make it beyond the first round so it’s very dear to my heart. I’ve been able to coach to win the league before but the FA Cup I’ve not been able to do that so it’s a motivation for me.”

Fellow Ghana League side Karela United take on lower tier side Golden Kick also on Sunday, March 30 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
