The National Sports Authority (NSA) has announced that Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. will not be able to use the Accra Sports Stadium for their upcoming Ghana Premier League match against Nations FC, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2025.
The decision has forced the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reschedule the Matchweek 21 fixture, which will now take place at the Tuba Astro Turf on the same date.

According to the NSA’s press release issued on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the authority could not reach an agreement with Hearts of Oak to host the match at the Accra Sports Stadium due to scheduling conflicts.
The Ghana Premier League’s mid-week fixture schedule has clashed with other events at the venue, making it “practically impossible” to accommodate the game.
Despite negotiations with the GFA, the NSA cited prior commitments as the primary reason for denying Hearts access to the stadium.
The NSA noted that the Accra Sports Stadium has already hosted several major stakeholders this season, including Hearts of Oak, Accra Hearts of Oak S.C., Nations FC, and other clubs, for league matches.
However, the authority assured fans that the venue will be available for the weekend’s fixtures, including the upcoming match between Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. and Karela FC, as well as other games involving teams like Nations FC.
Additionally, the NSA revealed that a structural audit of the Accra Sports Stadium is nearing completion. The audit, prompted by ongoing concerns about the venue’s condition, will provide recommendations to guide the authority’s future decisions on hosting football-related activities.

The NSA emphasized its commitment to supporting Ghanaian football while ensuring fair accommodation for all stakeholders.
For Hearts of Oak, the relocation to Tuba Astro Turf comes at a pivotal moment in their season. The Phobians, currently in 4th place with 37 points, are looking to end a three-game winless streak and will hope the change of venue does not disrupt their preparations against a competitive Nations FC side.
