CAF President pays courtesy call on President Mahama ahead of African Schools Football Championship finals

In a significant show of unity and support for youth sports in Africa, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), paid a courtesy call on Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama on the eve of the finals of the Continental African Schools Football Championship.

The tournament, which kicked off on April 21, 2025, has brought together young football talents from across the continent to compete at the prestigious University of Ghana Stadium.

The championship, designed to nurture the next generation of African football stars, culminates today, April 26, 2025, with the highly anticipated finals.

During the visit, Dr. Motsepe commended President Mahama and the Ghanaian government for their unwavering commitment to promoting sports and youth development in Africa.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between African leaders and sports bodies to foster unity, discipline, and opportunity through football.

The Continental African Schools Football Championship has been a vibrant showcase of skill, teamwork, and passion, with participating teams demonstrating the bright future of African football.
