Head Coach of Ghana’s national U-15 boys team, Kwadwo Danso, has described Ghana’s hosting of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship as a proud and historic moment for the country.
Ghana becomes only the third country to host the prestigious tournament since its launch in 2022, following successful editions in South Africa and Tanzania.
The championship, which features Under-15 boys and girls teams from across Africa, has been lauded as a major platform for talent discovery and youth development.

Speaking in a pre-tournament interview ahead of the competition set to kick off on April 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium, Coach Danso said the nation is honored to welcome the rest of the continent for Africa’s biggest youth football event. He added that the players, selected through a rigorous national process, are prepared and excited to represent Ghana on home soil.
“Ghana ,we are fortunate to host this tournament. and after going through the secondary program to select players ,we normally get 10 days looking at the time to prepare towards zonal competitions.”
“But this time around we were very fortunate to have gotten one month to prepare for this particular competition.”

So we have have prepared well , management have done their part ,we the technical team have done our part with the support of the Ghana Football Association.
So I must say that the assurance is there. And we are promising that we would harness the trophy come the end of this competition .

The Ghanaian squad, drawn largely from regional school competitions and national scouting programs, has been in camp for weeks, undergoing intensive training in preparation for the continental showdown.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship, introduced by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, continues to be the largest youth sport mobilisation initiative on the continent, impacting over 1.9 million boys and girls from 46 countries since its inception.
