Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has lauded South Africa for its progressive approach to football development, describing the country as a shining example for the rest of Africa to follow.
Konadu, who most recently coached Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities, previously managed South African outfit Black Leopards, giving him first-hand experience of the country’s footballing ecosystem.
According to Konadu, South Africa’s investment in infrastructure, youth development, and football governance has placed it ahead of many African nations.
“Its a nice place. All that they are doing there, I think, they are showing the way for the rest of Africa to follow; now Morocco is also doing it and hopefully it will spread to the rest of Africa” he said in an interview with Muftawu Nabila.

A respected figure in Ghanaian football, Konadu has served in various national team roles and is known for his keen eye for talent and tactical acumen. Konado also guided Nsoatreman to a historic MTN FA Cup triumph after finishing 4th in the Ghana Premier League.
