Asante Kotoko’s Technical Director and interim coach Abdul Karim Zito has taken aim at strikers Albert Amoah and Kwame Poku, accusing them of selfishness and a lack of focus ; despite Kotoko’s 0-0 draw with Hearts of Oak in today’s Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The result was enough to send Kotoko to the top of the Ghana Premier League table, while rivals Hearts slipped to sixth.

Zito downplayed any talk of healthy competition between his frontmen, suggesting their actions are rooted in individual ambition rather than team success.
I don’t think it’s about rivalry ; it’s about lack of focus and selfishness,” Zito said. “Everyone wants to score, to stand out, to be the hero. But football is a team sport. In Europe, they value assists just as much as goals. Players support each other to succeed as a unit.

While Kotoko fans celebrated their climb to the summit of the league, Zito’s post-match comments signalled internal issues that may need resolving if the Porcupine Warriors are to stay on top.
