Nations Football Club head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle has stated that he has cautioned his team to not repeat celebrating in a manner that would attract punishment as it happened in the case of forward Emmanuel Annor.
Mingle said this in a post-game interview after Nations FC beat Legon Cities 4-1 in the Ghana Premier League to maintain its lead atop the standings.
With three games left to play in the 2024-2025 league season, Nations FC have 57 points with second ranked Bibiani Gold Stars having 56 points.
Annor celebrated his goal in a 2-0 win over Kumasi Asante Kotoko by taking off his jersey to show an “I Belong To Jesus” inscription on his shirt.
The act breached the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s rules on religious and political messages and attracted a 500 Ghana Cedis fine for Annor and according to Kassim Mingle, this won’t happen again. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“The whole team, not him alone, I talked to the whole team. In Ghana, they won’t caution you, they’ll fine you…they can caution you, they can fine you so nobody should do it again. I’ve talked to them”.
