Faisal Chibsah, a high-performance specialist  believes Ghana is rich in football talent but continues to underachieve due to systemic gaps; especially in education.

Speaking on the country’s football development, Chibsah emphasized that Ghana’s ability to produce talent is undeniable, but the structures needed to refine and elevate that talent remain underdeveloped.

He notes that despite the country’s strong talent pool and educational foundation, there are gaps in the system and the potential hasn’t been fully maximized

We are lucky that we can produce talent in a given day. But like you rightly said, I don’t think we’ve maximized that opportunity,” he noted.

Everywhere in the world, you’ll find one or two Ghanaian names floating around.

But when you compare that to the level of education here and the number of players we’re producing, it doesn’t quite add up.

Chibsah stressed the need for a more holistic approach to player development, calling for improved education not just for coaches, but for players, families, and the entire multidisciplinary support system around athletes.

One area where I’d like to see more improvement is the quality of education; of players, their families, and the professionals working with them.

We all have a role to play, and if we can raise that standard, I believe we’ll produce even more talent than we are now.

He added that Ghana’s current level of outreach and awareness should be yielding better results, both in local competitions and on the international stage.

Where we are now with our education, it tells you we can do more,” Chibsah concluded. “We’d love to see an increase in the quality of our education here and hopefully see that reflected in our domestic leagues and national teams, because I still believe we’ve got more to prove than we are.
