For the third time in his illustrious, legendary career, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, is the undisputed champion of the world; twice in the heavyweight division and once in the cruiserweight division.
The 38 year old delivered another superb performance to knockout British boxer Daniel Dubois in the fifth round who entered the fight as the IBF heavyweight champion.
Usyk, the WBC, WBA and WBO champion, heading into the fight silenced all doubts about his win over Dubois in the rematch held at London’s Wembley Stadium after his first win over Dubois dominated by controversy over a low blow call against Dubois.
This time around, Usyk made sure there was no controversy as he won the first three rounds and delivered an overhand right punch in an exchange that floored Dubois with 1:32 minutes left in the fifth round.
He ramped up the pressure a few seconds later and landed a left hook that floored Dubois again but this time the British fighter failed to beat the count.
Usyk consistently clipped Dubois with short quick jabs that forced Dubois to reset as he loaded up his punches and was leading the score cards prior to the knockout win.
After beating former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury twice, a third bout is a possibility after the Gypsy King called for a rematch as he inches towards coming out of retirement again.
