Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe has stated that the best time to invest in women’s football is now following renewed interest in the sport in connection to the Black Queens’ fine run at this year’s CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco.

Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team won bronze at the recently concluded tournament marking the nation’s best performance in the continental championship since 2016.

Speaking in an interview after she headlined the Black Queens contingent that was hosted by the Bank of Africa Ghana at a breakfast meeting, Cudjoe indicated that the uptick in interest in the team means that the time to invest in women’s football is now.

The Bank of Africa Ghana was represented at the breakfast meeting by Abderrahmane Belbachir, Managing Director, Kojo Van-Ess, Group Head, Human Resource and Administration, William Boateng, Executive Director Business Development and Laila Pentsil Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication.

“What we did is not just coincidence; it’s something that we’ve been building on for years so now, maybe, this is the opportunity for them- corporate organizations- to start coming in. Right now, the Black Queens need more sponsors. It would be good to have companies that actually want to work with the Black Queens and help develop the women’s game” Cudjoe said.

The Black Queens take on Egypt on October 20 and October 28 to determine qualification to the 2026 Women’s AFCON.
