2025 World Athletics Championships: I tried my best, it just didn’t go well- Ibrahim Fuseini

Ghana sprinter Ibrahim Fuseini says he tried his best to qualify to the semifinals in the Men’s 200 Metre event at the World Athletics Championships but his attempt “just didn’t go well”.

Fuseini run the penultimate heat of six races in the preliminary round and finished sixth in a time of 20.66 seconds.

Jamaica’s Bryan Levell, Zimbabwe’s Makanakaishe Charambia and Australia’s 17 year old sensation Gout Gout finished picked up the three automatic qualification spots respectively.

Speaking after missing out on a place in the semifinals at the world event that is taking place in Tokyo, Japan, Fuseini admitted that he didn’t execute the race well

“It wasn’t a bad race, I tried my best it just didn’t go well. I think I didn’t execute the race, I was like, rushing the race” he said to Sporty FM.

Fuseini gets another chance to pick up a medal at the event via the Men’s 4×100 Metre Relay event.
