Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has praised President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to football.
He did so when addressing the press during a meeting with Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu, who doubles as the owner of Ghana Premier League side Karela United.
The GFA President added that the commitment of President John Mahama is yielding positive results with Ghana’s qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup being the latest.
Ghana secured qualification to the World Cup for the fifth time in six straight editions of the competition after beating Comoros 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“We will work together to follow the agenda of the President [John Mahama] who set out to reset all facets of our country including football.”

“I think that the recent happenings, his personal commitment,…to the team is clearly having a manifestation on the football ecosystem. The Black Stars are back in the Mundial where we belong to and a lot more can said” Kurt Okraku said.

Ghana’s University for Development Studies recently won the World University Games Football competition in China after beating Paulista University from Brazil 2-1 in the final.
