American welterweight contender Ryan Garcia says he doesn’t see former Middleweight Champion Gennadiy “Triple G” Golovkin as a Hall of Famer.
Garcia, who has made this comment prior, maintained his stance when he made an appearance on boxing show “Inside The Ring” at a time Golovkin is eligible to be inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.
27 year old Garcia based his argument on the lack of big name opponents, aside Golovkin’s trio of bouts against Saul Canelo Alvarez, on the Kazakh boxing icon’s CV.
“Triple G really had no great victories. It’s a little hard for me to put him in the Hall of Fame. I just don’t see him as a Hall of Famer. I can’t give him that nod” Garcia said and added that

“The thing that I will give him is that he was one of the superstars in boxing, for a long time, I will give him that.”

Golovkin ended his career with 42 wins, two losses and a draw in 45 bouts; both losses were to Canelo Alvarez with the only draw on his CV coming in his first bout against the Mexican superstar.

43 year old Golovkin was recently voted as President of World Boxing after playing a key role in keeping boxing as an Olympic Champion.
