The National Sports Authority (NSA) has placed accountability at the heart of its operations, Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has said, as the agency undertakes reforms across leadership, finance, and regulatory compliance.
Speaking to the media, Ampofo Ankrah highlighted the Authority’s efforts to enforce regulations, restructure leadership, and respond decisively to financial audit queries, particularly regarding the management of internally generated funds.
“We need to follow procedure and uphold public interest. We’ve consulted the Public Interest Committee and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, and have adhered to auditing processes.

There is now an entity tender committee in place; things that weren’t in place when we assumed office. Over the past nine months, we’ve laid a strong foundation, but we now need to review past actions, ensure the board is satisfied with processes, and continue to seek guidance moving forward. There is still a lot of work to be done,”
Ampofo Ankrah emphasized that while significant reforms have been achieved within nine months, full accountability requires continued oversight and systematic review of the Authority’s operations.
