Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn says he expects his client Anthony Joshua to fight in the boxing ring again but quickly pointed out that there are no guarantees the British heavyweight boxer does so.
He said this as Joshua continues to deal with the passing of close friends and members of his team, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele in a car accident while on holiday in Nigeria.
Joshua was in the car that was involved in the accident and sustained minor injuries late last year; he paid tribute to them and returned to training last month. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Speaking in an interview with First Round TV, Eddie Hearn was guarded about his expectations on Joshua’s return stating,
“I don’t think there are any guarantees he fights again, but at the same time I expect him to, because it is something that he loves and it is something he can carry those guys with him through as well and it is something he wants to do.”

“From a boxing sense, physically it wasn’t easy what he went through either. People probably don’t realise the extent of that. He has been training, but he is not ready yet and won’t be for a while to return to boxing training.”

Prior to the accident and the death of his friends, Anthony Joshua was widely expected to fight Tyson Fury later this year.
