Germany’s Head Coach Julian Nagelsmann, has announced a strong 26-man squad for the Germany national football team ahead of their international friendly against Ghana’s Black Stars on March 30, 2026, at the MHPArena.
The fixture forms part of Germany’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The squad selection highlights a clear tactical blueprint, with a significant number of players drawn from Bayern Munich—a move that underscores Nagelsmann’s desire to build cohesion within his setup.
However, the headline omission is Jamal Musiala, who misses out due to injury, leaving a creative gap the manager will be keen to address with alternative options.

In a nod to the future, Nagelsmann has handed debut call-ups to highly-rated prospects Lennart Karl who is 18 years old and goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, 22, reflecting a deliberate blend of youth and experience as Germany fine-tunes its squad.
Captain Joshua Kimmich leads the team, supported by key attacking figures Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz.
The mix offers a valuable opportunity to assess squad depth, versatility, and tactical flexibility.
The clash against Ghana is expected to provide a meaningful test, with Nagelsmann pointing to the Black Stars’ quick transitional style as similar to that of the Ivory Coast national football team, one of Germany’s potential opponents at the World Cup.
As such, the encounter serves as a practical simulation of the challenges they could face on the global stage.
Germany will first face the Swiss national football team on March 27 before hosting Ghana three days later, making this international window crucial for refining tactics and solidifying player combinations.
