Real Madrid will complete the 2025-2026 season without the services of Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes after he picked up a season ending ACL injury.
A statement from the club announced that Rodrygo had suffered the anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right leg with his lateral meniscus also getting ruptured.
The development is a huge blow to Brazil as Rodrygo was widely considered a lock to get selected to the squad that will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Brazil has been drawn in Group C with Haiti, Morocco and Scotland but Carlo Ancelotti’s team won’t have Rodrygo available and the forward shared how sad he was on his Instagram page.
“I’m out for the rest of the season with my club and out of the World Cup with my country, a dream which everyone knows how much it means to me.”

“All I can do is be strong as always; that’s nothing new. One of the worst days of my life. I’ve always been afraid of this injury” Rodrygo stated on social media.

In a widely frustrating campaign after struggling for playing time under sacked head coach Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo registered three goals and six assists in 27 games.
