Antoine Semenyo was part of a triumphant Manchester City side that secured the Carabao Cup title with a commanding 2-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley.
City delivered a controlled and clinical performance in the final, scoring twice in the second half to seal the trophy and cap off a dominant display. After a tightly contested first half ended goalless, Pep Guardiola’s men stepped up after the break to take full control of proceedings.
The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when a costly error from Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga gifted City the opener. O’Reilly capitalised with composure, slotting home to give the Citizens a deserved lead.

Just five minutes later, City doubled their advantage, with O’Reilly completing his brace to put the game beyond Arsenal’s reach. The quickfire double effectively ended the contest, leaving the London side struggling to mount any meaningful comeback.

Arsenal had their moments, including a clear opportunity for Riccardo Calafiori, but failed to find the cutting edge in the final third. Despite pushing forward in the closing stages, they lacked the creativity and precision needed to break down a well-organised City defence.

The first half had been evenly balanced, with both teams showing intensity but creating few clear chances. Arsenal started brightly, pressing high and looking dangerous from set pieces, but City gradually grew into the game, asserting control through possession.
As the match wore on, Guardiola’s side dictated the tempo, especially in the second half where they appeared sharper and more decisive. Their ability to manage the game and punish mistakes proved the difference on the night.

With five minutes of added time signalled, City fans were already celebrating as their team comfortably saw out the result to be crowned EFL Cup champions.
For Semenyo, the victory marks another significant moment, as he adds silverware to his career with one of Europe’s top clubs. Meanwhile, it was a disappointing end for Arsenal, whose hopes of a historic season suffered a major setback with defeat in the final.
