BuMorgan Gibbs-White delivered a match-winning performance to steer Nottingham Forest closer to Premier League safety, scoring a brilliant second-half hat-trick in a commanding victory over Burnley FC.
The England international’s treble, combined with a late goal from Igor Jesus, secured Forest’s first home league win since December and lifted them five points clear of the relegation zone.
Burnley slide toward relegation
For Burnley, the defeat leaves them in deep trouble.
Sitting second from bottom, they are now 12 points adrift of safety with just five games remaining. Their fate could be sealed quickly if West Ham United secure victory over Crystal Palace and Burnley fail to beat Manchester City in their next outing.

The result significantly dents their survival hopes, leaving little margin for error in the final stretch of the season.
Spurs dragged into relegation battle
Forest’s win also had wider implications in the relegation fight, intensifying pressure on Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs, who drew 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion, now sit 18th just one point behind West Ham, having played a game more.
The shifting dynamics at the bottom of the table have turned the survival race into one of the most compelling storylines of the season.
Forest respond after slow start
Despite their eventual dominance, Forest were far from convincing in the first half.
They fell behind in stoppage time when Zian Flemming finished off a low cross from Quilindschy Hartman to give Burnley the lead.

However, the hosts responded emphatically after the break. Gibbs-White struck twice in quick succession within seven minutes to turn the game around and shift momentum firmly in Forest’s favour.
The 26-year-old completed his first career hat-trick with a looping header from Ryan Yates’ cross, putting the result beyond doubt.
Substitute Igor Jesus added further gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time, racing through on goal and finishing calmly to make it 4-1.

The victory extends Forest’s unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions their best form of the season under Vitor Pereira.
With confidence growing and survival now within reach, Forest appear to have found momentum at exactly the right time, while Burnley are left staring at the harsh reality of relegation.
