Ghana take on England on Tuesday, June 23 in the second round of games in Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with both teams heading into the tie on the back of wins in the opening round.
The Black Stars beat Panama 1-0 while England beat Croatia 4-2 and Rooney highlighted the toughness Ghana has when asked on his podcast.
“I wouldn’t want to play Ghana. They are strong, they are technically very good so I think the group is tough for England than a lot of people think.”

“[Playing against Ghana] You’re going to have to work extremely hard and be on your game for 90 minutes so any team that comes against Ghana you know you’re in for a tough game” Rooney said.
