Ghana has qualified for the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before kicking a ball in their final Group L match against Croatia.
The Black Stars are among six teams, alongside Egypt, England, Portugal, Paraguay, and Senegal, to have secured knockout qualification ahead of the last round of group matches.
Ghana reached four points after opening their campaign with a 1-0 win over Panama before holding England to a goalless draw. FIFA confirmed that results in Groups F and H have lowered the qualification threshold, making four points enough to guarantee a place in the Round of 32 under the tournament’s expanded 48-team format.
The revised format sees the top two teams in each of the 12 groups qualify automatically, along with the eight best third-placed teams.
While Ghana’s place in the knockout stage is secure, the Black Stars still have plenty to play for against Croatia. The result will determine whether Ghana finishes top of Group L or progresses as runners-up, which will also decide their Round of 32 opponents.
England have also booked their place in the knockout stage before their final group game against Panama, while Paraguay will face Germany, and Egypt have already been paired with Australia in the Round of 32.
Ghana’s Round of 32 opponents will be confirmed once the final round of group matches is completed.
