The Ministry of Sports and Recreation says the Government of Ghana distributed a total of two thousand, nine hundred and twenty-two (2,922) tickets for the Black Stars’ three group-stage matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before ending its ticket-support scheme.
According to the Ministry, 948 tickets were allocated for the Panama match, 1,000 for England, and 974 for the game against Croatia.

In a statement signed by the sector minister, Kofi Adams, the tickets were not for sale but formed part of a national support programme for selected fans, supporter groups, sponsors, stakeholders and members of the diaspora.
Distribution was coordinated through Ghana’s missions in Canada and the United States, recognised associations and approved stakeholder channels. The missions compiled lists after consultations with community groups, and tickets were issued electronically through FIFA’s mobile ticketing system.

The Ministry acknowledged that demand far exceeded supply, leaving many supporters without access. It said the strong interest reflected wide support for the Black Stars but noted that only a limited number of tickets were available.
It confirmed the scheme covered only the group stage and will not continue into the knockout rounds. Fans have been advised to buy tickets directly from FIFA’s official platform or accredited agents.
The Ministry also said a full list of beneficiaries will be published later, once the format is finalised.
