Newly appointed Tunisia head coach Herve Renard has described the challenge connected to his latest job as one that isn’t easy.
He said this in his first press conference since his appointment as Tunisia’s head coach following the sacking of Sabri Lamouchi.
Lamouchi was sacked immediately after Tunisia lost 5-1 to Sweden in its opening game at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The loss marked the second game in a row that Tunisia conceded five goals after suffering a 5-0 loss to Belgium in their last friendly game.
At the presser, Renard, who is coaching a team at the World Cup for the third time, said the grandeur connected to the World Cup attracted him to the job.
“At the moment we need to be focused on ourselves. We still have a few days to be ready.”

“It’s a World Cup. I know the passion around this event. That’s what motivated me to come and it’s a challenge which isn’t easy” Renard said.
