Morocco’s National Men’s Football Team forward Ismael Saibari won’t be available to play in the Atlas Lions’ 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal clash against France.
Morocco take on the 2018 World Cup Champions on Thursday, July 9 but will be without star striker Saibari due to a hamstring injury.
Morocco’s head coach Mohamed Ouahbi confirmed Saibari’s absence in a pre-game presser as the North African nation targets a return to the semifinals of the World Cup.
Bayern Munich player Saibari’s injury forced him off in the early minutes of Morocco’s round of 16 stage game against Canada that had them clinch a 3-0 win.
“Everyone’s available, except Saibari, with the match coming too early for him although he’s not out for the rest of the tournament, I hope. Everyone’s available, although we of course will only select the players who are at 100%” Ouahbi said.

Morocco became the first African nation to reach the semifinals of the World Cup by reaching the elite stage in the 2022 edition.
