Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is excited to compete in the 2026-2027 English Premier League campaign.
The Gunners head into the new season as defending champions after winning the league title for the first time in 22 years. Arsenal beat Man City to win the Community Shield- the EPL curtain raiser.
Arsenal open the new league season against Coventry City on Friday, August 21 at 19:00 GMT at the Emirates Stadium. Coventry City gained promotion to compete in the EPL this season.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the season opening game, Arteta voiced out what his team needed to do to successfully defend its title.
“I feel good, different, hopefully better. I’m more excited than ever, hungrier than ever. I can’t wait to start the Premier League at home in front of our supporters, have a great performance and win the match.”

“I have no question that our players have that desire and the ambition to do that-retain title-…What we need to show is that desire and ambition will be better than what we were last season” Arteta said.
