The Ghana Football Association has petitioned the Confederation of African Football for 500 additional tickets for Ghanaian supporters who travelled to Bouaké for Thursday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Côte d’Ivoire.
The supporters have been unable to secure tickets for the Group C opener after the Ivorian Football Federation (IFF) announced that tickets for the match at the Stade de la Paix had sold out.
The GFA received its official ticket allocation on Wednesday, September 23, during the Match Coordination Meeting but says it is not enough to accommodate the number of Ghanaian fans currently in Bouaké.
In a letter to CAF, the GFA requested an additional block of about 500 tickets to allow the stranded supporters to attend the match.
The Association has also raised the issue with the Match Commissioner, who has assured the GFA of his assistance. The GFA says it remains committed to ensuring Ghanaian supporters who travelled to Bouaké can access the stadium and back the Black Stars in their opening Group C qualifier.
