Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, says the Black Queens have been paid all outstanding bonuses and per diems relating to the Pink Ladies Tournament and the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Adams made this comment when he appeared before Parliament’s Select Committee on Youth and Sports on Thursday, September 17, 2026. His comments follow concerns previously raised by members of the Black Queens over unpaid bonuses and allowances.
According to the Minister, all outstanding payments for the Pink Ladies Tournament have been settled. He added that, as of Thursday, the Black Queens were not owed any bonuses or per diems relating to either the Pink Ladies Tournament or the 2026 WAFCON, which was held in Morocco.
“The Black Queens have been paid all outstanding allowances in relation to the Pink Ladies Tournament, which was played earlier this year. For the Pink Ladies Tournament, they emerged victorious, so they have been paid everything that was due to them”.
“All pre-camping payments have also been made to the team and officials. During the WAFCON tournament, they were paid all the per diems and bonuses due to them. So, currently, the Queens are not owed any per diems or bonuses”.
The Black Queens have a challenging route as they continue their quest to secure a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
The Black Queens will compete in the Preliminary Phase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Play-Off Tournament, scheduled to take place from November 24 to December 5, 2026.
Ghana will begin their campaign against Ecuador on Matchday One before facing Uzbekistan on Matchday Two. The Black Queens will then wrap up the Preliminary Phase against Papua New Guinea on Matchday Three.
Having secured a place in the World Cup Play-Off Tournament, the Black Queens will now be looking to navigate the Preliminary Phase successfully and keep their dream of reaching the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil alive.
