Black Stars midfielder Ibrahim Kakari Sulemana has officially joined Italian Serie A side Sassuolo from Atalanta.
The deal is a season-long loan that includes Sassuolo having the option to buy the Ghana international once the 2026-2027 season concludes.
Signed by Atalanta, Sulemana was loaned out to Bologna and Cagliari where he made a combined 20 appearances in all competitions and scored a goal.
He played four games for Bologna and 16 games for Cagliari where his performances put him in line to get included in Ghana’s Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
“US Sassuolo Calcio announces that it has acquired the sporting services of the footballer Kakari Ibrahim Sulemana (midfielder, 2003) from Atalanta, on loan with an option to join until June 30, 2027.”
“From the entire black-green family, welcome Ibrahim!” a section of the club’s statement read.
Sulemana becomes the latest Black Stars player to play for Sassuolo after fellow defensive midfielder Alfred Duncan played for the team over a combined five year period.
