“Joining Hearts of Oak fulfills my dreams”- Abednego Tetteh

New Hearts of Oak forward, Abednego Tetteh, says that getting to wear the Phobian colours is a realisation of a childhood dream of his and that pleases him greatly.

Tetteh’s move to Hearts was formally announced on Monday by the club after he completed his medicals and agreed terms with the team.

He told Fox FM in an interview on Tuesday that despite interest from other clubs, he only had eyes for Hearts as he as came from a background of huge Hearts fans.

“Everything has gone through and I have signed a three year contract with Accra Hearts of Oak. Hearts is part of the numerous clubs that contacted me but I chose them because I wanted to feel at home. I followed my heart.

It is a dream come true to sign for Hearts of Oak. All my family members are fans of Hearts. My father is even called Phobia.”

Tetteh joins with a lot of experience from his time at Bechem United, where he won the FA Cup in 2016, and from playing in countries like Ethiopia, Sudan and India.

He stated his readiness to help the Phobians succeed in the Ghana Premier League and also asked the fans to stay the course and keep supporting the team as the nation waits to return to normal life and the resumption of the Ghana Premier League.

“There are players in the team before I came, we have to play together as a team. I am a Hearts player now and have trained with the team.

I will urge the supporters to continue to pray for the whole team but not for individual players. We are hoping and praying for COVID-19 to end so that we can continue our football season”.

Tetteh’s addition to the Hearts team underlines their eagerness to improve their attacking sharpness.

They scored 15 goals in the 14 league matches they played before the Ghana Premier League was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
