Samuel Boadu weighs in on referee Ken Paddy’s performance in super 2 clash

Accra Hearts of Oak Head Coach, Samuel Boadu has expressed his displeasure at the contentious penalty decision which decided his side’s clash with rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Asante Kotoko were awarded a penalty early in the first half when referee Ken Paddy adjudged Abdul Nurudeen to have fouled Kotoko’s Fabio Gama in the box.

Kotoko’s star man, Etouga Mbella, converted what ended up being the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for Kotoko.

Speaking after the game, Samuel Boadu called for better officiating in order to grow the interest of the game.

“Some decisions are not fair. We all want Ghana football to improve and get better. So when some decisions like that [penalty call] are made it’s not the best.

”Maybe I’d have to look at replays again to see if the referee was right, but it’s painful when a big game is decided in this manner,”he said.

League leaders Kotoko now have a 16 point lead over their rivals Hearts of Oak, after that win.
