Karela United Football Club CEO, Elloeny Amande, is pushing for the Kurt Okraku led Ghana Football Association (GFA) to pump more money into Ghanaian football clubs and not legacy projects.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after the recently ended 29th GFA Congress held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’ Great Hall.

At the Congress, GFA President promised increased financial support to clubs in the Access Bank Division One and logistics support to clubs in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

The Karela Boss was seemingly pleased with this move and called for such moves to be replicated rather than pumping money into legacy projects under the GFA President.

“Everybody in the ecosystem needs help and that’s why am very really passionate about money not going into legacy projects because there are real cash needs that the clubs have and if you raise money on behalf of the clubs, then the money needs to be going back to the clubs.”

Karela United finished eighth in the 2022-2023 BetPawa Ghana Premier League standings.
