President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo has urged the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Local Organizing Committee to organize the best African Games in history.

He said this in his speech delivered at the commissioning of the Borteman Sports Complex ahead of the start of the 13th African Games.

The African Games is scheduled to run from March 8 to March 23 with the Borteman Complex as University of Ghana Stadium as the centre piece of the competition.

President Akufo-Addo commissioned the multipurpose facility in the presence of Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and Vice President of Ghana Dr Mahumudu Bawumia.

“I admonish the Minister and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, staff of the Ministry and the LOC to go all out and organize the best African Games in history”

Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif

“To this end, I pledge the full commitment of government to ensure that all visitors to the country are secure…and experience the greatest of African Games.”

This year’s African Games will serve as qualifiers to the 2024 Paris Olympics in eight sports disciplines.
