Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman of the 2023 African Games, has called for detractors to give the body full credit for organizing the competition.
He said this in his address at a media briefing the LOC put together to address several issues it deemed as misinformation connected to reports about the 13th African Games.
Aside speaking on the reason why the quality of paper used to produce identification tags for the Games was of low quality, he touched on the amount used for 3.9 million Ghana Cedis insurance cover for the Games before calling for the LOC to be credited for organizing one of the best African Games. “Please admit it, you didn’t give us, excuse my language a dog’s chance to build anything at Borteyman. Borteyman is going to turn into a tourist centre, it’s going to be turned into a (sports) university and all that.”
“At least we have done something. Why are we not admitting that we have also done something as a country? This is our country, the project is a national project. It is not for any particular individual. It’s for all of us.”
