President of the Ghana Basketball Federation, Ato Van-Ess, has assured that Ghana will end its run in the 3×3 Basketball event in the 13th African Games with a medal.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of the competition’s commencement on Monday, March 18 at the University of Ghana court.

Ghana heads into the competition with a lot of expectations after going through a fine phase of preparation at the venue.

Speaking in the lead up to the competition, the Basketball Federation sounded his confidence over Ghana’s chances to win a medal.

“They are prepared and ready for the tournament. There are two medals that we can get; one for the men’s, one for the female and we assure that we will be in the medal zone.”

Ghana has been drawn against tough opponents in the group (pool) stage of the competition with the host nation set to play against the likes of Egypt and Cote D’Ivoire in the Women’s Division Pool A.
