Ghana’s representative at the Basketball Africa League (BAL), Spintex Knights Basketball Club have returned from Libya after securing qualification to the Elite 16 stage of the continental championship.

Knights travelling contingent, headlined by lead scorer James Amotoe and head coach Thomas Amedeku, was  welcomed at the Kotoko Airport with an energetic “jama” session in the presence of family and friends of the triumphant group.

By making it to the second round of the competition, Knights are the first Ghanaian club to achieve this feat; Knights need to finish among the top three teams in the Elite 16 stage to progress to the main BAL competition.

The Elite 16 stage runs from November 5 to November 10 in Cote D’Ivoire and reigning Accra Basketball League Champions Knights are determined to make it.

In Libya, Knights beat Elan Coton from Benin but lost to Cote D’Ivoire’s Abidjan Fighters and Mighty Barolle from Liberia.

However, Spintex’s better point difference was enough to get them a second place finish in Group F and qualify. Scroll down to watch Knights enjoy the jama session upon their arrival in Ghana.
