Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has spoken about the rationale behind the committee’s decision to allow individuals under 15 years old to watch MTN FA Cup games for free.

The football taste acquired by watching such games he believes, will pay dividends for Ghana football in the future.

He said this in an exclusive interview on Channel One TV’s Football Made In Ghana with the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games set to commence this weekend.

“Last season, we introduced free entry for women and children U-15 and our thinking is that catch them young, let the next generation start enjoying football for free for now and they acquire the taste and tomorrow will start paying so that’s the plan we are executing this year.”

This weekend’s round of matches commence on Friday, November 29 with Legon Cities taking on Home Stars at the University of Ghana Stadium at 15:00 GMT.
