Manchester United Head Coach, Ruben Amorim, has blamed frustration for his strong comments in the wake of the Brighton came. Amorim ripped into his players after their 3-1 defeat to the Seagulls on Sunday which left Manchester United in 13th place with a win in their last six games.

The Portuguese trainer did not mince words in his post-match presser declaring that many teams are much better than his:

“The opponents are better than us in many details so we cannot be consistent. I’m not helping my players at the moment. So, it’s a hard moment. You have to acknowledge that we are in a very difficult situation. We’ve had all the bad records, losing games at home, and losing games in the Premier League. So, we are really underperforming, and we need to win games.”

Amorim went on to label this as the worst Manchester United team in history:

“In the Premier League, we won two of the last ten, I know that. Imagine what this feels like for a fan. Imagine what it is like for me, a new coach who is losing more than the last coach.  I have full knowledge of that. Like I said, I’m not going to change, no matter what and I know we can succeed, but we need to survive this moment. So, we are the worst team, maybe in the history of Manchester United, but I’m saying that because we have to acknowledge that and change that.”

However, in his most recent press conference ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Rangers the Portuguese seemed remorseful stating:

“I’m frustrated sometimes and sometimes I should not say that in those terms, but it is what it is and that’s it. Sometimes it’s really hard to hide the frustration in some moments”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to 10th-placed Fulham.
