2025 SWAG Awards: Being wanted and prized by Ghana feels good- Abeiku Jackson [VIDEO]

Ghana swimmer Abeiku Jackson has sounded words of great appreciation after being named as the Swimmer of the Year at the 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports.

The annual event was headlined by Vice President of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and had several standout athletes and sports personalities honoured.

High jumper Rose Yeboah won the grand Sports Personality of the Year Award while Bright Kankam Boadu won the Journalist of the Year Award. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Jackson on the other hand, won the biggest swimming prize on the back of winning a bronze medal and a silver medal at the 2023 African Games.

“It’s very good to feel wanted and feel prized in your country and I look forward to win more awards and even taking home [the] athlete of the year [award] he said.”

James Kwesi Appiah won the SWAG President’s Award after leading war torn Sudan to qualify to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
