High Jumper Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah has been named the winner of the prestigious SWAG (Sports Writers Association of Ghana) Sports Personality Award.
Yeboah’s recognition as the best and biggest sports personality in the year under review was observed at the 49th edition of the SWAG Awards.
The event was headlined by Ghana Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and had Bright Kankam Boadu named as Sports Journalist of the Year with James Kwesi Appiah winning the SWAG President Award after leading Sudan to qualify to the 2025 AFCON.
23 year old Yeboah, beat strong competition from the arm wrestler Grace Mintah who like Yeboah, starred at the 2023 African Games held in Ghana.
After winning gold in the Women’s High Jump vent at the 2019 African Games, Yeboah successfully defended her title by finishing in first place at the 2023 edition held in Accra.


Hasaacas Ladies star Mukarama Abdulai and former Dreams FC midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah won Female and Male Footballer of the Year Award respectively. Both players were members of Ghana’s Under 20 group that won gold at the 2023 African Games.
