“We’ll qualify for 2026 World Cup and excel” – Kamaldeen Sulemana

Black Stars forward Kamaldeen Sulemana says the team is determined to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

The forward has experienced a challenging period, marked by group-stage eliminations in the last two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in Cameroon and Ivory Coast, as well as a failure to qualify for this year’s competition.

Reflecting on these setbacks, Sulemana told Showmax,

“We as players take the blame and take full responsibility for not qualifying, and we have apologised to the country and our fans.”

Ghana’s qualification hopes soared after a commanding 5-0 triumph over Chad and a convincing 3-0 win against Madagascar during the March international break, corresponding to Matchday 5 and 6.

These victories propelled the Black Stars to the top of Group I with an impressive 15 points.

Looking ahead, the Black Stars are preparing for crucial Matchday 7 and 8 clashes against Chad and Mali in September.

They will then conclude their qualification campaign with matches against Comoros and the Central African Republic, aiming to solidify their spot in the prestigious tournament.
