President of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC), Mr. Samson Deen, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Ifedayo Adeoye, Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, at the Nigerian High Commission in Accra.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss advancing para sports across Africa and key AfPC initiatives, including the inaugural West African Para Games in Nigeria, the AfPC General Assembly, and the Open Championship, all scheduled for November 2025 in Accra.

During the meeting, Mr. Deen requested the High Commissioner’s assistance in arranging a follow-up meeting with Her Excellency, Distinguished Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria, to update her on AfPC programs and seek her continued support.

In 2023, Mrs. Tinubu was named Grand Patron of the African Paralympic Games and Para Sports, tasked with rallying other African First Ladies to promote disability sports and inclusion in their nations.
High Commissioner Adeoye warmly welcomed the AfPC delegation, expressing alignment with the Paralympic Movement’s philosophy and praising Mr. Deen’s commitment to inclusivity in Africa.

He affirmed his support for AfPC initiatives, noting that the First Lady’s focus on empowering women and marginalized groups aligns with the AfPC’s goals, and assured that she would be open to receiving the delegation.
The AfPC delegation included Ignatius Elletey, Foster Kwarteng, and Michael Obeng.
