Spintex Knights Basketball Club head coach Thomas Amedeku has indicated that he wasn’t impressed with his team’s latest win in the 2025 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I regular season.

He made this clear in a post-game interview after Knights beat big rivals Nungua Coldstore 2-0 by default after the game abruptly ended in overtime.

Coldstore battled to tie the game at 75 at the end of regulation time but the club had just one player available to see out the game in overtime due to players fouling out of the game and picking up injuries in the course of the game.

Nungua, earlier in the thrilling contest, had its entire bench ejected for their involvement in an on-court melee and Thomas Amedeku insisted that rules are rules while commenting on the incident but was generally not impressed with his team’s performance. Spintex Knights head coach Thomas Amedeku

“We didn’t bring the energy and the effort from the second quarter up to the end of the game. Very sloppy with the ball, all of those things counted so congrats to Coldstore for the good fight. We came in here, we were probably thinking it was going to be a walk in the park, we came in and saw that these guys [Coldstore] wanted something and that’s what they brought.”

“We will just get back to work and talk about the things that we didn’t do well, watch the film and we will be better in the next game.”

Alright fellas, that was… something.
